When George Carson Boyd started the shop as a vegetable, fruit and flower stand in Wilmington back in the day, the focus quickly turned to the flowers.
Boyd began growing them, and a few years later, opened a storefront downtown.
After WWII, Boyd sold his shop to Pat Roop, one of his designers, and her husband, Harvey.
They ran the business until the late 1970s, passing it on to their daughter Linda and her husband Reid Kellogg.
