Gateway Nursery and Florist is owned by the Kornbacher Family, Paul, Alex & Dusty. We purchased the Nursery in 1998 and added the Florist in 2004. We are all Kentucky Master Gardeners and Dusty is a Kentucky Master Florist as well. Father and son operate the lawn and landscape part of the business while Dusty oversees the nursery and florist operations.
It has been our privilege to provide the West Kentucky Region with quality landscaping by providing the finest plant material available. As a Master Florist, it is Dusty's goal to translate your emotions into a beautiful design that will be pleasing to you the giver as well as the receiver of your floral order. As a family we have worked together to cultivate the Best Little Nursery & Florist in Draffenville, Kentucky.

Services
Gateway Nursery was established approximately 30 years ago and has had three owners.
Paul and Dusty Kornbacher are the current owners.
My roots in Marshall County go back several generations and it was the many trips to visit grandparents and family that established our desire to live in KY.
Although neither of the us had any previous knowledge of horticulture we viewed our purchase of the nursery as a way to work together as we had in our marriage of 30 years as well as a way to meet people and establish friendships in the county.

Gateway Nursery & Florist is proud to announce a new addition to our team.
Our beautiful and talented granddaughter, Nichoel has joined the business.
On Monday's she works at the Florist with her grandmother learning the floral trade and the rest of the week, she works with her Dad and Grandpa.
She is petite and pretty but don't let that fool you!
She can run a 61 zero turn Scag mower with the best of them and she can string trim like a PRO!

We think Fall is the best time to plant shrubs and trees because the cooler fall weather allows them time to establish their roots before winter.
When they are dormant their energy is going to the roots not into the production of leaves.
By spring you should have a tree or shrub that is well on its way to being established enough to survive the hot summer.
Of course Spring is the best time to plant annuals but rule of thumb for perennials is this: if they bloom in the spring, plant them in the fall.
